Snaptophobic?

Hello. I am Heather.

Snaptophobic is a name I adopted many years back. The term was coined by a friend, who would see something and declare “Now, that’s definitely Snaptophobic!” What they meant was whatever they were looking at would make a great photograph.

My interests are many and various. There’s a definite transport theme, though. I am a retired self-employed model maker, specialising in British outline model railways. I have an interest in history – all of it! – but I centre on one particular year, and that is 1940. It began as an interest in the Battle of Britain, but has kind of spread to include the whole of the calendar year. I keep thinking I might blog about it, but it will be a while coming, and if it does ever happen it will be enormous.

Other interests include photography, reading, Star Trek, chocolate biscuits, cuddling my cat. I try not to get involved in anything contentious, but let’s just say my politics are very left wing these days.

I am trying to make an interesting blog entry once a week. Let me know if you enjoy what you read.
